Just A Little Reminder

After a tough week and feeling a little down, the rain setting in and not letting up, the clouds finally parted and out popped the most beautiful rainbow at a beautiful time of day. It was just a little reminder things are good, it could be worse and that there is beauty no matter what is going on in life. Its exactly what I needed.

Little Love Bug

Ellie only goes to school twice a week, so there are two days that Ellie and I have together in the morning. Its just the two of us for a few hours. I love having time together with my little love bug.  This morning we got to school a little early, so we waited in the car for a bit before going in to pick up Abby. This little girl sat up in the front seat with me and we giggled and sang songs until it was time to go. I love the fun little memories that I share with this girl.

Found A Tree!!

Its official, we found our Christmas tree! Here it is! OK so this isn’t its finest hour at the moment, but its a beautiful tree and I cannot wait to get it home, cleaned up and decorated.
Have I mentioned that this is our first real, not artificial, Christmas Tree since Shaun and I were married? Yep, we have had a fake tree every year. Most of the time its because we were traveling after Christmas and didn’t want the worry about the care of the tree while we were away but this year we aren’t going anywhere! So excited. It smells amazing!

Winter Wonderland

Another round of low temps at night (in the high teens) allowed for another morning filled with frost covered everything. This morning the frost was very heavy and the lawn at their preschool looked like it had a light layer of snow on it. It was beautiful. It looked like a beautiful winter wonderland.

Snow Queen

Last night the temps dipped low, down into the low 20’s to be exact. So, when we woke up this morning anything and everything that had water on it was now covered in a beautiful layer of frost. The roofs on all the homes around us looked like they had a light layer of snow and the plants sparkled in the sunlight. The girls were mesmerized and Abby determined that the Snow Queen had come to visit and left a layer of frost behind. Creative little cookie she is. It might be cold out but its certainly beautiful. Love living in seasons again!

Flexi Girl!

While we wait to find the right couch for us, the living room has a lot of open space. Abby and Ellie use it to dance around, sing and just have a good time. Today I found Ellie practicing her “stretches”. My that is one flexible little girl. I am thinking dance may just be the hobby she loves!

Paper Bag Princess

This evening the girls stayed with Grandma Zoe and they decided to make pretty dresses out of packing paper. This was Ellie’s creation. She reminds me of my favorite book from childhood, The Paper Bag Princess. She is quite the cutie though!

Abby Getting Married?

Abby and Ellie went to Grandma Zoe’s today. When we dropped them off Abby wanted to show us the new wedding dress Grandma got them to play dress up in. She came out in her dress with a big grin on her face. This is the first thing she said when she came back into the living room…
“Isn’t it so beautiful! Now I am ready to marry my boyfriend Harrison!”
I couldn’t help but smile and giggle. When I shared this information with Erika, Harrison’s mommy, the response she received was even more priceless. When she showed Harrison the picture and told me that Abby was ready to marry him, what did say? No, not ewww a girl! He said, and I quote…
“But Mommy I dont have a suit!”
From the mouths of babes.
