The Blog is Back Up

As you can obviously see the blog is back up and available for everyone’s enjoyment.

For the moment, it looks like the problems with spam sites have stopped for now. I changed a few things around, taking more precautions with my settings and now it is no longer available to be found in a search engine like Google or Bing unless the exact name of the blog is known. That’s at least what Blogger claims. We shall see if its the truth or not.

SO for now we have kept the Baby Babbler from becoming completely private and it is easy to access for all of my friends and family. Lets hope it stays that way! So until then, enjoy all of our adventures and fun!

Blog Will be Down…

Greetings Family and Friends!

Due to some unwanted traffic from spam sites and such, I will be blocking access to the blog for a period of about 24 hours. I apologize for any issue this may create but I am trying to drive away unwanted traffic without forcing the blog to go private. Making the blog private means that each of you will have to set up a Google account and I know many of you may not be thrilled about that.

Therefore, starting this evening (Thursday June 13th) at 8pm PST you will not be able to access the blog. Instead of our beautiful home page you will see a typical Google Log In page. Don’t panic, we will be back up and running within 24 hours of that time and hopefully this will keep some of the garbage I am seeing through my stats away from the site. Thanks again for your patience and we will be up and running soon!

Very Behind…

Greetings Blog Readers!

I know… I am behind. Very behind. I promise that the blog will be updated very soon but I became side tracked with another project. I realized that while I have been keeping a record and a log of our family over the last 4 and a half years or so, I was very behind on my photo albums. So, I started the process and it has been a bit more demanding then I thought it would be.

I am a stickler for dates and keeping things in order so it has been a task keeping things straight. Over the recent years I have been good about putting dates on every group of photos and making sure that the date stamp from the camera is accurate. With that being said, the photographs I have dating back to Abby’s birth until she turned 2 have scattered dates. Its been a process but I am getting there. Currently all photos from Abby’s birth in 2008 up to our trip to Montana in April of 2010 are printed and in albums. I have now gone back and looked up all the dates that I can. I just need to write the notes for these pictures into the albums and then I will start printing more and hopefully be caught up soon. Once that happens I can keep up with these things and life wont be so nutty.

After that my next projects will be to make their scrapbooks with all of their special events and milestones in them. I also need to finish our wedding and honeymoon albums and then my photos from when we were dating and before that. Yeah, its bad. This coming from the girl who just finished getting her wedding album chosen and put together by our photographer. By our 6th anniversary we should have our professionally done album! Yeah, life has been busy over the last 6 years but I know it will feel great once these things are complete!

Finally Ran Out of Picture Storage!

SO I have been feverishly trying to get pictures uploaded onto the blog so that I can finish each post and get them up before its 2013. Its been great so far, but unfortunately I have hit a wall. Not a wall of being tired of writing or working on the blog, but a wall that will no longer let me download pictures.
I have reached my Picasa data limit with the blog account. 1 GB in four years time, not too bad if you ask me. I can purchase more space, which I intend to do but my wallet is downstairs and well I am too lazy at the moment to get it. Its also late, so I should probably see this as a sign to go to bed and start fresh another day. So that is what I will do. Don’t worry there is plenty more to come, I just have to do a few updates to the account!

New Format…

I have been thinking about my blog and its format as of late. I love it but the one thing I am horrible about is being overly detailed and my posts can be too long at times. My past posts took a lot of time, sometimes sacrificing the time I slept or did housework. I often procrastinated long enough that posts built up over time, making it harder to finish them. My goal from this point forward is to be a bit more to the point but still give all of the details that tell our stories. Hope everyone enjoys the new format and I would love to hear your opinions too!

Ellie is 21 Months Old!

Ellie turns 21 months old and I think time has officially accelerated. OK, I know that isn’t possible but it feels like that. We only have three more months until Ellie turns two, until I no longer count her age in months and she officially stops being a toddler and starts heading into preschool years. Boy its all happening so fast.  Until then I will savor all that I can about her. In the last few weeks she has really started to talk… a lot. I would tell you all of her new words but there are so many that I cant keep up!

Ellie loves being just like her sister and despite fighting, they are joined at the hip. Ellie has grown into such a happy go lucky little girl. She loves to snuggle and cuddle with mommy and daddy but she also has a very independent and stubborn side.  She likes to do everything on her own just like her big sister and she isn’t afraid to show you when she is unhappy. I have a feeling age two will be a bit challenging but I look forward to all of it.

Ellie is 20 Months Old! The Countdown to Two Begins!

Yup, that cute little bathtub Gnome is now 20 months old! Seriously? Now we count down the last four months until she turns… two. Yikes. I promise, however, not to count too fast. Ellie is talking up a storm these days. I swear her vocabulary has tripled in the last week or so. It almost makes me sad to hear her becoming so verbal. I loved all of her baby coos and noises. Being able to talk just means she is getting bigger and older.

Ellie follows her sister a lot and is learning fast. She is even showing some interest in the potty too! The prospect of cutting down to just night time pull ups excites me. The thought that it wont be long until we are diaper and pull up free excites me even more! Ill be interested to see what the next month brings.

Did it again…

Yes, despite my promises I have neglected the blog again. I have been working on some things, mostly sorting out the pictures I have and those that my dad gave me from our trip to Montana, but I promise to update soon. My hope is to catch up within the next week or so that way I can start a few changes to the blog. Dont worry, nothing too big! I just want to add more of my own thoughts, ideas and ramblings on top of all the adventures and wonderful things the Wharton Family are up to. I am also thinking about making the blog private. I will see about that and I promise to make the transition as easy as possible, if I decide to do so. If anything it will be more of a hassle for all of you then for me, so I may just leave it public. Off to bed now, but there will be updates soon!

Ellie is 17 Months!

Ellie is 17 months today and still refuses to stop growing! I wish I could keep her little forever but unfortunately that just not how life works. Despite my wish to keep her at a certain age, she grows and changes every day. She is starting to talk even more and put sentences together. I have a feeling that once she is really talking, I wont be able to get her to stop.

Ellie is now obsessed with cheese, to the point that when I cut her off we have full blown meltdowns. I do remember this phase with Abby as well. Ellie also loves blocks. She can sit for hours putting things together with her blocks and then taking them apart. Maybe we have an architect or an engineer in our future? I guess we will see! Ellie also follows Abby around everywhere and wants to do whatever she is doing. As a big sister I know this can get to be a bit much, but for the most part they are very loving to one another and Ellie is learning to do a lot because of her big sister and she is learning it fast too! Time flies and continues to march on. I look forward to the changes another month will bring.

Happy 16 Months Ellie!

Ellie is 16 months today! Its hard to believe that its been 4 months already since she turned a year old, but time marches on. We didn’t have a doctors appointment this month but I can tell she has grown since the last. Boy is she getting tall!

Ellie has been learning to much. She watches Abby like a hawk and tries to do everything that she does. Most of the time Abby seems to enjoy it, but like most sisters it does cause some trouble. Ellie is our little spitfire though and has no problem causing trouble on her own. She has to test out everything she sees, from drawers and cabinets to every button she can push. She tests everything and has developed some adorable yet stubborn looks. Her vocbulary has also expanded, she can now say the following…

Mama
Dada
Shoes
Down
Dog
Jack
She can Meow like a kitty
Nana (like the fruit and like Nana Fiona)
Cheese
Up
Drink
Bye, Bye
Hi
Moon
Coco (which we think means color)

So much has changed in a month, I cant wait to see what lies in store for us in the next month. Cant wait and because this time of year seems to blow by fast, Im sure next month will come in no time. Until the next!

14 Months and a Day at the Park to Celebrate…

Ellie is 14 months old today! Its very hard to believe but she is. Two months really have passed since her first birthday! Ellie is growing by leaps and bounds and we are really starting to see her personaility. Ellie loves to be with her sister; following her, playing with her and mimicking her. At the same time Ellie is becoming very independent. Abby is going to have to watch out because Ellie is learning to stand up for herself and hold her ground. I see a lot of time outs and separation in our future.

Ellie has four of her bottom teeth now and it looks as though her top front teeth are trying to make their way out of those very red and swollen gums. It makes for a grumpy girl at times, but usually she is happy and usually wears a smile. Ellie is really starting to talk, more then just her babbling. So far we have heard her say the following things (or so we think)…

Uh Oh
Mama
Dada
Nana
Bubble
Gog aka Dog
Guck aka Duck

The rest of the time she talks in words we cant understand, but we still have long funny conversations with her. Ellie is also singing. While she doesn’t have the words she is pretty good with the tune. Its hard to believe how fast she is growing.

A Day at the Park

As a little celebration, I decided to head to the park with the girls. The weather was finally cool (less then 85 degrees out) and a nice cool breeze was blowing. Of course, Abby was excited about this. We packed snacks for a picnic and headed out.

The girls stayed for nearly 3 and a half hours, spending most of their time in the grass and in the sandbox. Abby made several new friends in the sandbox and worked very hard to make a sandcastle. She used some rocks to decorate the sides as well as a cap from my water and then put a stick and a leaf at the top to act as a flag. She was very proud of it and protective too. Ellie, who used to hate the feeling of sand on her, got used to it and once she did she dig right in. She sat there forever using her shovel to put sand in her bucket.

Abby and Ellie played well together too, which always makes me happy. Abby tried to show Ellie how to make a sandcastle, but Ellie was content with shoveling sand. The girls really did not want to leave but it was obvious that they needed a rest. Abby fought me tooth and nail but once we were on the road, heading home, Abby and Ellie quickly passed out. Once again, it was a great day at the park. Happy 14 Months Ellie!
